We helped the BBC rescue lost episodes of Dr Who by recreating them faithfully in black and white animation from the original soundtracks.
In the 1960’s the BBC lost episodes of many classic TV shows, including Dr Who. With the successful revival of the brand in recent years, the BBC wanted to recreate some of these shows so that they can be enjoyed by fans. In some instances, the original soundtracks were preserved, and the BBC’s publishing arm 2|Entertain commissioned our animation team in Newcastle to recreate four episodes from the Patrick Troughton era, staying faithful to the art direction and camera style of the time.
