This six part documentary series examined the lives of extraordinary women from the last few centuries, with shows dedicated to adventurers, politicos, murderers and courtesans, it was always bound to have a risqué edge, which was appropriate to its post-watershed slot on ITV. The show was built around a collection of interviews with experts - historians, psychologists, cultural commentators and informed celebrity opinion, opening an amusing and entertaining window on the lives of some famous and iconoclastic figures.
