This short film, created by Bullion, looks at the work of photographer Martin Zähringer, exploring the methods and concept behind his exhibition ‘Mute Shoot’.
Mute Shoot, a monochrome photographic homage to productive procrastination is a portrait project by photographer Martin.
After an operation on his vocal chords Martin was unable to speak for six days. Over that week he shot a steady stream of friends in complete silence only communicating with them via a chalkboard, post-it notes and gesture.
An unspoken dialogue between practitioner and subject this project exists within abstract realms of exchange, exploring ideas of subject representation and portraiture as a whole.
Mute Shoot Portraits can seen at the Print House Gallery, 18 Ashwin Street, London E8 3d,l from the 5th May to the 31st May 2011.
