How do you design a typeface for an alphabet you don't even comprehend, let alone speak fluently? How do these disparate letters and symbols come to be anyway?
In this short video, the third in a series for ADC Typography Month, type enthusiasts Stewart Devlin — Chief Creative Officer of Red Peak Group — and Bruno Maag, legendary Swiss type designer and owner of Dalton Maag Ltd. — talk about the challenges of creating international fonts.
