At twenty six, Richard Wilde founded the Advertising And Graphic Design department of the School of Visual Arts. Today, forty years later, he is considered to be one of the grand masters of design education; the students in his Visual Literacy class create an astonishing 2,000 images each week. The film features the annual GDAD Spring Show at the Art Directors Club, and interviews with Richard Wilde; it is loaded with students’ cool graphics and original music created in Wilde’s class.
MASTERS OF DESIGN: A four part short documentary series portrays remarkable professionals from the design field who also enjoy outstanding teaching careers at the School of Visual Arts. The series was created in collaboration with the Chair of the Advertising and Graphic Design department at the School of Visual Arts, Richard Wilde who is also the executive producer of the project, and Nada Ray, design projects production veteran, who wrote and directed the series.
