The first leg of 43th Rallye Český Krumlov was dominated by a captivating battle between Jan Kopecký and Václav Pech. ŠKODA Motorsport works driver won 4 stages, while his competitor Kopecký ran into bad luck in penultimate 6th stage, when he had a puncture in the dark and lost over 22 seconds. In the end, though, he made a great effort on treacherous wet track and took his ŠKODA Fabia R5 through the last stage in fantastic time, erasing his previous losses. After the 1st leg, team Kopecký/Dresler in the 2nd place is losing just 6.6 seconds to the leading pair Pech/Uhel, which means that tommorrow, everything starts from the beginning again. "In the last stage, we tried to erase as much loss as possible, and we succeeded at that. We will make some changes to the car's ste-up and we'll go back to the battle tommorrow", said Jan Kopecký at the finish line. At the end of the 1st leg, Václav Pech admitted that to keep his lead against Kopecký, he often had to go over the edge.
