環境保護是三跑道系統計劃的其中一個重要考慮。在環境影響評估部分，機管局對12個主要範疇進行了詳細研究，從中建議超過 250項措施，以避免、減少及緩解對環境可能產生的影響。機場在日常營運，已經採取多方面的環保元素，興建三跑道系統，我們不單只着重它為香港帶來的競爭力，更加着重經濟及保育並存發展。
Environmental protection is one of our major considerations in developing the three-runway system. In the Environmental Impact Assessment, we conducted detailed studies across 12 key aspects and proposed more than 250 measures to avoid, minimise or mitigate its potential effects. HKIA has adopted a number of green initiatives in its daily operation. Developing the airport into the three-runway system, we are not only focus on the competitiveness it brings to our city, but rather strive to achieve a balance between economic development and conservation.
