”SUNTORY presents Beethoven’s 9th with a cast of 10,000” is one of the world’s biggest classical music concerts where ten thousand people gather to chorus Beethoven’s 9th. The concert is conducted by internationally renowned conductor, Yutaka Sado.
Since its start in 1983, “SUNTORY presents Beethoven’s 9th with a cast of 10,000” became an annual event of December at Osaka-jo Hall. Every year, participants are gathered from the public. The cast members who are selected by lottery come from various age groups, various occupations and various life experiences go through chorus lessons for over 3 months to prepare for the concert. “SUNTORY presents Beethoven’s 9th with a cast of 10,000” certainly attains Beethoven’s heart for the 9th, “Unification of All People- Alle Menschen werden Brüder” through chorus. The concert is well recognized and tickets are sold out every year.
