AAdvantage One-Way Flex Awards | A Whole New Approach to Frequent Flyer Travel

After extensive research, American Airlines will introduce a new approach to frequent flyer travel along with some additional features to enhance the award redemption process when booking on AA.com.

AAdvantage One-Way Flex Awards
The One-Way Flex Award feature gives AAdvantage members more options when redeeming award travel, offering the ability to use awards on a one-way basis at half the round-trip mileage requirement. For instance, a member may book a one-way domestic MileSAAver® economy class ticket for 12,500 miles half the amount of a round-trip domestic MileSAAver ticket, currently valued at 25,000 miles.

At the same time, members who do travel round trip now have the ability to combine different types of one-way awards on a single ticket. For example, customers may now combine MileSAAver awards with AAnytime® awards, or economy class awards with First Class awards.

These new features provide AAdvantage members with more flexibility when redeeming miles on AA.com, allowing members to select the flights that best meet their needs for their trip.

In addition to introducing One-Way Flex Awards, American has enhanced AA.com to make booking AAdvantage travel online even more convenient.

•Members needing to travel to more than one city on a single trip may now book multi-city award itineraries on AA.com. Multi-city booking allows members to book up to four one-way awards on a single ticket, an expansion from previous capabilities that allowed booking only one round trip on a ticket.

•One-Way Flex Awards and multi-city awards may now be booked using the AAdvantage booking tool on AA.com that provides members with a user-friendly calendar showcasing award availability over a four-week period for each travel segment allowing members to determine the dates, flights and award types that work best for them.

•Spanish-speaking members in the United States and in selected countries now may book award travel in Spanish, making it easier for customers who prefer to coordinate travel in Spanish. The new Spanish language tool is accessible by clicking Español on the AA.com home page or by visiting one of the country-specific, Spanish-language portals American offers at www.aa.com/espanol. Previously, customers were not able to book award tickets in Spanish
