Jewish Boltanski is a top artist in France. He collected the heartbeats of over 120,000 people across the world since 2008, and stores them in a small dark room in the Japanese Island of Teshima. It’s called “the Heart Archive”.Born in 1944, he created all his works under the theme of life and death. For example, he has collected 10 tons of old clothes and piles them in a room. A steel claw keeps picking them up and throwing them down. Each piece of cloth represents a portion of one’s life. He has also made pictures of 3,000 newborns into a huge conveyor, symbolizing life track from birth to death. He said that the most horrible thing is not death but forgetting those who are dead.
