During late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, a group of monks crossed over to Japan bringing with them advanced Chinese culture, and unfolded one of the biggest great mass fervor overseas for Chinese culture before modern times. These predecessors left a large amount of calligraphy in Japan. It has taken more than a decade for Master Yuezhen to collect and bring them back to China, and part of the collection is now in Hangzhou Yongfu temple, which is known as “the most beautiful temple in China”.
