Panqu, located in Dali, Yunnan, is a village of the Bai ethnic with only less than 20 households. In 2014, Gil, a French who had been in China for 12 years, moved here and opened a restaurant offering private home cuisine. In the previous 20 years, Gil was a journalist and photographer to Asia. Although adept for Spanish, French, and Yunnan cuisines, he cooks twice a week at most. There is no menu in his restaurant. Many people are attracted by his fame and visit here.
