The lives of four local individuals, Agnes, Roy, Meera and Miss Oliver intertwine when Agnes is attacked on the street. This sets in motion a chain of events that leads to Agnes being unwittingly introduced to the one person who ruined her life before. Some four decades ago. All is not doom and gloom though as Roy eventually steps up declaring his love for Agnes in such a way as to protect her from the machinations of the evil Miss. Oliver. Meera the local shopkeeper also defends Agnes by telling Miss Oliver a few home truths.
