I've been so inspired by Taco Bell's latest work that I wanted to pay homage to it and create something that showcases my strengths in directing, writing, lifestyle, food, robots, VFX, and LED Walls. This concept spot is a love letter to Taco Bell and skateboarding. Two things I find myself constantly going back to! I couldn't have done it without the amazing crew who worked on it. We worked through the night, in the rain, and with high-speed robots, but our passion for the process of making commercials kept us going. I am humbled by all who came out for this truly. I'm so proud of what we created, and I hope you enjoy it!
Tech:
The use of an LED wall in this shoot was a groundbreaking merger of new technology, problem-solving, and a major time-saver.
Instead of trying to shoot table-top food on location, we were able to use the LED wall to create a realistic background. This allowed us to capture the essence of the location in the studio.
We then took these plates back to the studio and finished the table-top food shots. This allowed us to have the best of both worlds: the realism of shooting on location and the control of shooting in the studio.
The use of an LED wall was a game-changer for this shoot, and it's something that we'll definitely be using again in the future.
