The intention was to create a raw and honest film that provides a glimpse of what it’s like for mothers, workers, performers, and partners during their period in modern times. The fact that our society does not recognize menstruation as a cause for taking a break or staying home even, is shameful. We wanted to show that for many women it can be uncomfortable and painful, while they still power trough. Our focus was to portray this feeling through the lives of a diverse group of individuals from different body types, ethnicities, and gender expressions. As we should all agree that the real power should be to put themselves first, the hope is that becomes the new normal by shining a broader light on the subject.
