Privileged to have worked with Vans and create this animated spot for the new sustainability-focused UltraRange VR3 shoe. In collaboration with the Vans creative team, I designed storyboards, style frames and the final animation, combining photography and footage. The animation tells the story of the shoe creation process, side by side with surfboard shaper Pepe Rivas, creating a surfboard from repurposed materials. After the two are completed, surfers Harry and Holly put the shoe and the board to use. Rethinking the materials, process and overall impact, the production of the board and shoe both assist in the quest for a cleaner ocean.
