Obiols & Laming is a downtempo project based in Barcelona formed by the multi-instrumentalist producer Arnau Obiols and the British gifted guitar player Tony Laming. ´Science and Ritual' is their debut album and creates a widescreen listening experience that alternates between both dark and playful. Recorded during Winter and Spring 2019 the two musicians spent time in the studio surveying a method of considered improvisation based around organic percussion loops and analogue electronics, mixed with melodic guitar statements and environmental ambiance. Their sonic universe takes influence from a wide range of references such as Durruti Column, Jon Hassell, Cluster or Boards of Canada -to name just a few- and adding the pop sensibility of bands like Broadcast which gives as a result a truly unique sound.
