this project began when lewis del mar approached us to design the stage for their first ever headlining tour. after selling out across the country, we decided to fly out for to la for their show at the el rey. we canvased their social media following and enlisted four groups of fans to join us in the creation of this film. we gave them stills and video cameras of varying formats (and a bit of guidance) and sent them out to capture the day leading up to the show alongside the show itself. we recorded phone interviews and shot the show ourselves on 16mm and layered these elements together into this collage like thank you note to their fans. what you see is an love poem, by the fans, for a small band they love. something we all know a bit about.
