For these two Japanese transgender former job-hunters, hair is an important part of their identity, and a symbol of pride.
Clothes, makeup, hair, who we are inside… Anyone would rather show their individuality when job-hunting, but this is especially daunting in Japan, where conformity and uniformity have been insidiously enforced.
For LGBTQ+ job-hunters, this self-censorship and repression is especially pertinent.
Having to deceive yourself when you want to show your individuality instead.
There are other job-hunters out there right now who have no one to turn to for advice.
So isn’t it time we start thinking about this issue? For the sake of transforming job-hunting from a place of deceit, to a place to present one’s individuality.
#Pantene supports all job-hunters to take that first step forward with their own hair.
