SHE 2.0, by Rijko Fernandez, is an immersive journey through senses, nature and urban environments encapsulated through movements by a young Amsterdam-based Filipino–Dutch artist named Wennah Wilkers. In search of her artistic identity, she dives into her personal experiences, inspirations, cultural influences and values. Within this search, she unearths deep feelings originating from her relationship with her mother.
Her solo performance titled ‘SHE’ is inspired by her mother’s journey and life, and “how she, as a young woman, migrated alone to Europe for work in order to provide for her family in the Philippines,” Wilkers shares in the film...
