Biography
Yan Hiu Lau Yuki is a graphic designer and animator based in London. She have previously work for clients such as HSBC, Deliveroo and Lee Kum Kee. She is passionate for colourful, contemporary and innovative design
Director statement max 250 words:
My short film “Her Hands” is about a Nigerian-born visual artist, Otobong Nkanga. The main idea of this film is to visualise Otobong’s creative process and her way to perceive her performance work. The techniques I have used for this film include rotoscoping and 2D animation, the delicate nature of both techniques really represent Otobong’s work. The music in the film is composed by Alex Pandya, using instrument like Handpan to create a calming mood.
