Biography
Georgia Bardi is an animator having a BA from the department of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Athens. She is currently doing her MA in Animation at the University of the Arts London. Apart from that she is also an enthusiastic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athlete.
Director statement
This is a film made for SCT Charity and is a true story told by someone with alcohol addictions. Doing my research on the charity’s services I found Matti’s interview really interesting and touching so I decided him to be the main character in my animation film. He has completed rehab at SCT’s Acorn House after spending time living on the streets. Inspired by his words and the song in this video, which is like it captures the spirit of his journey, I focused on this feeling illustrating him being in a bus thinking about his experiences and what led him into such difficult circumstances. At the end of the film Matti says that he does not want to be the same person he was last year anymore. This bus has not a destination, it is the journey that matters most. My aim was to keep the film simple, clean, emotional having no colours. I wanted it to have innocence, sincerity and create feelings to the viewer.
