In 2020 the advertising community faced some tough questions about the purpose and place of our craft in a world that needs to find creative solutions to the many issues that we’re facing.
即将结束的2020年,给行业带来了很多变化,对很多人来说都极具挑战性,更重要的是,探索并超越了我们创造力的极限。2020年,广告界面临前所未有的挑战,需要我们重新思考广告的目的以及广告对于整个世界的作用。这些问题都需要我们在2020年的最后一个月提交一份满意的、具有创造力的答卷。As Mr. Wang Siyuan, the founder of the Golden Lions puts it, “although the impact of the pandemic dealt a big blow to advertisers, we have also seen how many found the strength to turn this crisis into an opportunity and managed to complete outstanding projects.” He added that “the industry can only move forward if it manages to find what makes it unique and turn it into a competitive advantage.”

And as video advertising continues to be integrated into new marketing developments and strategies brought by the tech industry, video advertising has managed to become, in the words of Mr. Lu Peikang –president of China Advertising magazine–, a perfect combination of “creativity, technology and art.”

尽管这一年面临着复杂多重的挑战,但金狮奖已经准备好表彰2020年制作的最佳作品。The Golden Lions remain the only competitive awards in China that focus exclusively on the field of video advertising because we are convinced that video content is the future of the industry and that this is where we can find the best and most interesting work.
金狮奖是中国专注于影视广告领域奖项。我们深信,预见影视广告行业未来的发展趋势,金狮奖就是重要渠道之一。At this year’s awards ceremony, Mrs. Sheena Zheng, our jury president, reminded us how “universal emotions and values” are at the center of what we do as advertisers and creatives. The best advertisements are those that can shake something inside of us and remind us – through the stories they tell and the expressive images they create– that even in the direst circumstances we can always find something to inspire us and give us hope about the future.
在今年夏天的颁奖典礼,终审主席郑以萍女士曾表达“普世价值的情感”是我们作为广告人、创作人的核心。好的广告在于触碰观众的心灵,并通过广告故事和印象深刻的影像提醒观众:广告总会激励观众并给未来带来希望。The success of the Golden Lions in 2020 confirmed that the awards have greatly increased in popularity and reputation since their first edition, with participation increasing on all fronts: more submissions, more prizes and more viewers. And although this meant more work and tougher decisions for our jury, we’re grateful to be receiving thought-provoking and innovative work year after year and proud to be a part of such an exciting moment for our industry.

2021金狮国际广告影片奖将于2020年12月1日开启报奖通道,欢迎各界品牌主、广告代理公司、广告公司、制作公司、制片、导演、演员、创作人等携2020年产出的优秀作品,抓紧机会参与本届金狮奖。For 2021, we have added new categories, some of them meant to cover work made for specific industries, such as Best Advertisement for Medical Services & Insurance, and others to cover new tendencies in marketing through video such as the Best Promotional Film for TV, Streaming & Film. We are also keeping some of our popular awards that recognize the creative use of social media, such as prizes for MCNs or KOLs, as well as our “classic” awards for technical achievements like VFX and Art Direction.
